Carolin Leutloff-Grandits, Dr. habil., is a social anthropologist and senior researcher at the Viadrina Center B/ORDERS IN MOTION, European University Viadrina. She completed her doctorate at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and her habilitation at the University of Vienna. She researches borders and migration from an entangled perspective with special focus on temporality and complexity, social security and entrepreneurship, and she has conducted extensive field research in the countries of the former Yugoslavia and in Germany, In her current research, funded by the Leibniz Association, she is focusing on migrants from Kosovo who set up companies in their home countries and is investigating the opportunities and hurdles that entrepreneurs encounter and how they contribute to the development of Kosovar society. Her most recent publications include the anthologies “Migrating Borders and Moving Times. Temporality and the Crossing of Borders in Europe’, Manchester University Press, 2017 (together with Madeleine Hurd and Hastings Donnan), and ‘Border Complexities and Logics of Dis/Order’, Nomos, 2024 , together with Christian Wille, Falk Bretschneider, Sylvie Grimm-Hamen and Hedwig Wagner, as well as the monograph ‘Translocal Care Across Kosovo’s Borders.
