The Diaspora Civic Engagement Forum is a dynamic platform dedicated to fostering collaboration between Kosova’s civil society organizations (CSOs), government institutions, the private sector, and its global diaspora.
This ongoing dialogues brings together diaspora members, policymakers, and civic leaders to explore strategies for enhancing civic engagement and strengthening connections between Kosova and its diaspora. Through interactive sessions, hands-on workshops, and thought-provoking discussions, the forum is designed to develop actionable strategies for impactful collaboration.
A key component of this initiative is the “Shijo Kosova” program, led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora (MFAD). Over the past three years, “Shijo Kosova” has successfully delivered an annual program that highlights Kosova’s culture, heritage, and opportunities. Acting as a bridge between the diaspora and local organizations, the program has provided a practical framework for fostering partnerships, promoting volunteerism, and aligning diaspora-driven initiatives with the needs of Kosova’s civil society. With the support of the Goverment of Kosova, increased funding has enabled “Shijo Kosova” to expand its activities, further enhancing its impact and deepening connections between Kosova and its global diaspora.
The Diaspora Civic Engagement Forum aims to establish a sustainable platform for continuous collaboration. It empowers CSOs and diaspora communities to play a pivotal role in Kosova’s development. Participants will have opportunities to network, share best practices, and engage in dialogues showcasing successful diaspora engagement models from around the world. These insights will inspire innovative approaches to increasing diaspora participation in Kosova’s growth and progress.
