Deepali Fernandes is an economist and lawyer with over 15 years of work experience in trade, finance and labor migration. She currently serves as lead consultant with the UN Capital Development Fund on the issue of remittances, and the Africa Free Trade Agreement Secretariat on financial services. Prior to this, Deepali worked as Economic Affairs Officer with UNCTAD, Senior Labour Migration Expert for the IOM, and law practitioner in India and the UK. Ms. Fernandes holds a BA in Economics and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Mumbai, a Master of Laws from the SOAS at University of London, and a PhD in Finance and Trade from the University of Zurich.
